Every digital image consists of smaller descriptors called pixels; which determine intensity or color of an image. The percision to which a pixel can specify color is called its bit. The more pixels your image contains, the more details it has the ability to describe.
960 pixels wide and 980 pixels wide are two foolproof widths used to display content comfortably in the browser for anyone using a 1024-by-768 pixel resolution or higher.
